SANTA FE SPRINGS, CALIF. — Caltrans and local and regional transportation agencies announced construction will begin in July on a $380 million project that will significantly improve the flow of traffic through the busy Carmenita Road interchange and also reduce congestion on the Golden Gate Freeway (Interstate 5). Financing for the project is provided by federal, state, and local funding, including $15 million from Proposition 1B, a 2006 voter-approved transportation bond.
SAN JUAN, P.R. — Puerto Rico will receive $1.436 billion in private infrastructure investment — the largest such investment in any U.S. jurisdiction so far this year — as a result of the Public Private Partnership (P3) announced to immediately upgrade and bring up to world-class standards PR-22 and PR-5, two of the Island’s major toll roads.

RICHMOND, VA. — The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) adopted the Fiscal Years (FY) 2012-2017 Six-Year Improvement Program (SYIP) allocating to projects almost $3 billion in additional construction funding created by Governor Bob McDonnell's transportation funding package passed by the General Assembly this year. The $10.6 billion construction program, which increased 36 percent from $7.8 billion in the FY 2011-2016 program, will enable important rail, transit, transportation management, bicycle, pedestrian, and highway projects to move forward.
SPRINGFIELD, ILL. AND INDIANAPOLIS, IND. — The Bi-State partnership formed last year by Governors Pat Quinn of Illinois and Mitch Daniels of Indiana is moving forward with planning for the Illiana Corridor. This joint effort is being managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), and seeks to identify a long-term transportation solution in a study area extending from I-55 on the west to I-65 on the east.
