SHEBOYGAN, WIS. — AeroMetric completed 36 miles of high-accuracy mapping along I-88 for the Illinois Tollway. I-88 is undergoing a mill and resurfacing program, and the design engineers required a high-precision base map to prepare construction documents. By employing a helicopter mapping solution, AeroMetric offered the team a creative and innovative approach to transportation corridor surveying. This is the first time the Illinois Tollway has used helicopter-based high accuracy mapping LiDAR technology for a corridor survey.
