HNTB receives Grand Award for Greenville Bridge in Mississippi

KANSAS CITY, MO. — HNTB Corporation received a Grand Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) for its work on the U.S. 82 Greenville Bridge in Greenville, Miss., placing it among the top eight of more than 140 projects honored. It also was recognized with six National Recognition Awards for road, rail, bridge, and water service projects across the country.

U.S. DOT selects North Tarrant Express for $415 million TIFIA loan

AUSTIN, TEXAS — U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announced that Texas’ North Tarrant Express project has entered the final stage to receive $415 million under the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) financing program, advancing a project that will address safety and congestion. The North Texas project includes improvements to sections of I-35W and construction of an interchange at I-35W and I-820. In addition, the project develops multimodal managed lanes to serve the region’s public transportation providers.

Chesapeake selects MBP for Dominion Boulevard Improvements

CHESAPEAKE, VA. — MBP, a Virginia-based, multi-disciplined construction consulting firm, was selected to provide construction engineering inspection services to the City of Chesapeake for its Dominion Boulevard Improvements project. The estimated $300 million construction contract involves a vital portion of the US Route 17 connector linking Interstate 64/464 in Hampton Roads to Northeastern North Carolina.
