CHICAGO — The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) will offer a track of seminars featuring peer-reviewed technical papers at its 2011 Annual Convention/Exhibition and National Bridge Conference. PCI is accepting abstracts for papers to be considered for those sessions now through April 4, 2011.

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. — Continuing the push to rebuild California's infrastructure and spur job growth, the California Transportation Commission (CTC) allocated $1 billion to 107 transportation projects statewide, including $838 million from Proposition 1B, a transportation bond approved by voters in 2006.
PITTSBURGH, PA. — HDR was recently hired by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Engineering District to provide emergency replacement services for a bridge carrying SR 1093 over Interstate 70 in Washington County, Pa. The structure was severely damaged by an over-height truck and required immediate demolition.
