The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) announced the winners of its biennial 2010 CRSI Design Awards program. For more than 37 years, the CRSI Design Awards program has honored excellence in reinforced concrete structures and acknowledged their designers. The CRSI Design Awards program is open to architects, engineers, contractors and fabricators — entrants may be individuals or teams. Hood Canal floating bridge to be dismantled

Old pieces of a Washington state floating bridge will be disbanded this month for use in a waterfront development in Canada. The refurbished pontoons from the bridge will be used to hold up a public pier in a marina in Sidney.

Four design options on the table for old Kosciuszko Bridge

The bridge, the crumbling hyphen in the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, last year topped a construction-industry group’s list of the most decrepit elevated roadways in the city. New York state's Department of Transportation has released plans to replace the aging viaduct in which two new bridges will take the place of the current steel-truss one. Four designs for the new bridge are under consideration.
