The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) released a list of transportation projects across the state that will be financed in part by $2.54 billion from President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) — more than any other state in the nation. The funding, which was fully obligated on Feb. 18, 2010, has been designated to 907 projects, and of these, 516 projects worth $2.5 billion have been awarded contracts to begin work.

If you pass, a certificate is made available immediately for printing or downloading. • The Continuing Education portal includes a history of quizzes taken (and a copy of the certificates), so users can keep track of their progress.
A draft of a new AISC Certification Standard for Steel Bridges is available for public review during a forty‑five day period beginning March 15, 2010, and concluding on April 29, 2010. This is the initial public review of a new standard under development by an AISC Certification Committee Task Group.
Seven winners have been named in Portland Cement Association’s (PCA) Twelfth Biennial Bridge Awards Competition. The competition, instituted in 1988, recognizes excellence in design and construction of concrete bridges. The 2010 program attracted 38 entries from Canada and the United States, covering a variety of structure types and construction methods. All structures were essentially completed between April 2008 and September 2009. The winners were recognized at the 2010 Concrete Bridge Conference on Feb. 25 in Phoenix, Ariz.
