The vast majority of funding for first-round ARRA projects has gone to repaving and widening, leaving many in the industry wondering when larger projects would come down the pike. "I have been so busy during the last two weeks responding to RFPs for shovel-ready projects, design-build, and traditional design work," DiGiacobbe said. "I’m so glad for the engineers who lost their jobs during the last 18 months, because now there is work."
