CHICAGO — The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) will offer a track of seminars featuring peer-reviewed technical papers at its 2011 Annual Convention/Exhibition and National Bridge Conference. PCI is accepting abstracts for papers to be considered for those sessions now through April 4, 2011.
The PCI Annual Convention/Exhibition and National Bridge Conference attracts more than 1,400 attendees each year and offers a premier venue for the exchange of ideas and state-of-the-art information on precast concrete design, fabrication, and construction. This year’s event, taking place Oct. 22–25 in Salt Lake City, will provide an opportunity for industry professionals to share their knowledge through peer-reviewed programs.
“As the industry enters a period of recovery, major opportunities exist for the growth and continued development of precast concrete,” said PCI Managing Director of Business Development Brian Miller, P.E., LEED AP. “This year’s convention will showcase a variety of innovative solutions to capitalize on this expanding market and to meet today’s design, construction, and sustainability challenges. The peer-reviewed track of programs will strengthen the educational benefits of the convention and provide a platform to share new and innovative ideas.”
All abstracts and papers must relate to the design and analysis, materials, production and erection, or maintenance and repair of precast concrete. Case studies, research, and project profiles are all welcome. Suggested topics include the following:
Abstracts should be submitted electronically at www.softconf.com/b/PCI2011.
A technical committee will review the submissions and the authors of selected proposals will be notified by April 22, with final papers to be submitted by July 15. Final papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
